MOVING

Just a note to catch everyone up on our status.  Some of you  know that Troy put in his application for a "new job".  We have been notified and Troy leaves in a few weeks for West Texas to take a job with the Department of Homeland Security.  He will be flying for the Customs and Border Protection, patrolling the border near Big Bend National Park.  We will be living in or near Alpine, Texas.  Where the heck is Alpine??? (I thought the same thing! LOL)  It is 670.66 miles southwest of Texarkana.  Alpine sits in the foothills of the Davis Mountians - in The Texas Rockies.

The Boys and I will make the move late December.  Troy will be in school for most of the time until then, so we will stay put here in Texarkana until we can all be together in our new surroundings.

We will miss all our friends and hope that if you find yourself in west Texas, you will look us up.  We would love to see familiar faces:)

Father and Son trip

Troy tries to take the boys on a Father/Son trip every year.  This year we didn't squeeze it into our summer vacation.  So, since Troy had to take the plane in for maintenance to San Antonio and had no passengers,  we thought this would be a great father/son trip for him and the boys.  We got them out of school at lunch and they headed to San Antonio.   Just so happens, Christian is studying the Alamo in class, so it is an educational trip as well   They went on a river tour and went to the Alamo- but it had closed for the night. They will go back tomorrow when it opens, and then they will head home.  (It is just a tad lonely here at the house - ALL BY MYSELF - that hasn't happened for YEARS)!

Four score and a Decade ago.......

We celebrated Christian's 10th birthday tonight.  1st we took him to Texas Road House for his birthday dinner, then we came home for birthday cookie and milk.

We went to Troy's mom and stepdads this weekend and they gave Christian his birthday present....jr. golf clubs.  A very nice set.  Now he can learn a new sport and go with pepaw to the golf coarse.
