Cartwrights in Alpine
Rhonda, Marvin, and Brit came to Alpine!

We made a stop at the Airport and showed them the office and Troy's favorite Airplane. LOL
We made a stop in town at the big mural so they could get their picture made with HOSS CARTWRIGHT! aka Dan Blocker
We went to the Big Bend Monday so that they wouldn't be in a car two days straight.

We stopped to find Marvin a Horny Toad, but had no luck. Since it was a less traveled road, we took pics with the great background!

This is known as the "window".
On the drive up they warned visitors that this was mountain lion and bear country.
This trail was the shortest,o.3 miles, so since it was 106 we decided shorter was better. On the stroll down the paved path, Rhonda met up with a deer. They Both jumped and the deer ran away!
We stopped to find Marvin a Horny Toad, but had no luck. Since it was a less traveled road, we took pics with the great background!
After we left the Big Bend, we decided to go to the Ghost town in Terlingua.
After the Ghost Town we headed down to Lajitas, Tx to see the Rio Grande. LOOK! There's Mexico! We all took turns trying to throw rocks into Mexico!
Tuesday the boys went Hiking in Fort Davis and went to McDonalds Observatory while us girls, stayed in Alpine and went to some shops.
Glad we got to show off our part of Texas:)

All Star Bulletin
Well, we started out Friday evening , meeting the team at the local Town and Country convenient store@ 4:30 pm. We pulled out at about 5:00 and headed to Pecos, for an 8:00 pm game. We pulled into Pecos around 6:30 and stopped at the local Walmart for a little restroom break and shopping! The Boys began the game slow, but due to some bad calls by the umps in our favor, we pulled ahead to beat Kermit 9-8. WOW! Talk about bad sportsmanship conduct from parents! I was almost scared to walk to the car - and I didn't dare say good game to anyone from he other team! After the game the boys celebrated the win with Pizza, which we ate in the Walmart parking lot. I think we pulled into the driveway around 1:00 am. Saturday, the boys were in the 4th of July Parade in Alpine. Our Next game was scheduled for Sunday, but was canceled due to rain. So Monday we headed back to Pecos for game 2, which was against Pecos. The boys played hard, hitting the ball the best I've seen so far. One hit it over the fence for a homerun and Christian hit a triple! We pulled ahead and then about mid game, the strike zone shrank, giving Pecos MANY opportunities to pull ahead. With all the bad calls, we couldn't recover. Pecos won :( So that put us in the losers bracket which meant we had to come back the next night to play Monahans. Troy was leaving for Oklahoma City that morning , so I got with another mom driving by herself and we drove in her Tahoe back to Pecos. Talk about HOT! I think the temp was 100 or so. The boys didn't do well at all. We couldn't hit and our fielding wasn't all that good either. So, we lost again putting us out of the tournament. We Should have won the whole thing, but I think the heat and the long drive got to them. We came out 3rd, so we are Proud of our Big Bend All~Stars!!!!!!!
