Future Pilots?

Troy came home today from a day of tracking, and he brought home his pilots helmet.  So we thought it would be cute to put the boys in it!  Here they are....

These make them look like BUGS!

HIKING in Ft Davis

We made the trip to Ft Davis Sunday to do some hiking before the BIG day (starting a new school).  It was a nice ride, about 20 minutes, through the mountains.  We saw a huge roadkill Javelina /have a lena/ or wild boar, and a couple of deer in a pasture. We drove up to Indian Lodge in the Davis Mountains State Park just outside of Ft Davis and walked up a trail to nearly the top and then headed back down.  It was almost too cold, but we worked up some body heat climbing up!  LOL  The boys had a great time and are looking forward to going again sometime.

Greetings from Alpine

Hello from Alpine, Texas.  I am stealing someones internet so I will make this fast.  We are still settling in but everything is going well for us!  Troy started his new job and we have made a couple of friends!  The boys are liking Alpine, they love the fact there are deer are EVERYWHERE here.  We have had them at our driveway!  You can drive through the mountian communities and see herds of  them in yards.   We have found the park which is not too far from the house and the elementary school is just down the road as well.  The local "walmart" here is Alco.  Just a smaller version of the original Walmart stores.  We have two grocery stores not far from the house, and Sol Ross University is close as well. I guess you can say everything is close to the house, LOL.  They say Midland is the place to do MAJOR shopping.  Walmart and Sams are next to each other, so a lot of locals stock up when they make the journey.  We are planning on going to Fort Davis this weekend and hike a few trails.  Troy's boss lives there and I think we are suppose to stop by and see them as well.  They came by the other night and are very nice,  turns out they are not much older than Troy and I.
Here are a couple of pics that I have taken of the deer and mountains....... more later.
